Yellowstone Summer 2010
Life is good. I get to be the priest in Yellowstone National Park this summer. I'll be living in the mountains I saw in that old 1960s movie Spencer's Mountain!
Flew from Philadelphia to Denver to Billings MT and was picked up by the Pastor from St. Anthony's in Cody WY, 50 miles East of the Park . That is the parish base for the summer Masses in Yellowstone (Click here for Yellowstone National Park Catholic Ministry info). The first thing we did after getting my duffle bag at the airport was go to Cabela's and get pepper spray mace to protect me from Bears!
This is going to be a great summer! Time to pray and write and preach to people from all over the world, besides trying to convert the bison and bears. Oh, yeah. I imagine I may chase a trout or two (LOL). Thank you Jesus!
We just left your part of the country. We're on a long, cross-country trip -- and are now headed to Seattle!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful summer!! You have indeed fallen into the Briar Patch, Brer Rabbit!!

Here's my blog, btw.

I live in Tallahassee, FL. Go to St. Louis Parish. My husband is a candidate for the Permanent Diaconate.
I'm working my way toward the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. Perhaps this fall.
Take care, and I'll keep you in my prayers this summer!
